Senior Java or C++ Software Engineer | BAE Systems Nat'l Security Sol | Rome, NY
Providing communications, navigation, guidance, and information
technology systems for the defense, intelligence, and homeland security
markets.
Network Systems offers network-centric command, control, computing, and
intelligence (C3I) solutions to meet emerging information needs with
advanced concept development, capability-based integration, application
development, and rapid operational prototyping. Network Systems' broad
technical expertise includes transmission systems integration, wideband
networking radio systems, guidance and navigation, identification, and
airborne ground-based software development. Leveraging its knowledge of
signals, and data derived from signals, it has achieved a market-leading
position in advanced information technology research, intelligence
analysis and production, geospatial exploitation software, geospatial
data production, and the architecture, design, development, and
integration of knowledge-based systems.
The Northeast Engineering Development Center (NEDC) in Rome, NY is
looking for a Software Engineer to design and develop Java and/or C++
software in a Unix environment. This position includes actively
participating in the development of a multi-threaded client-server
system through all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle. Work as
part of a software development team in a SEI CMM/CMMI Level 5
organization. Some travel may be required. Position will require the
ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years of hands on experience with Java and/or
C++ using object-oriented analysis & design.
- Working Knowledge of UML
- Unix background required.
- Self motivated and able to work independently, as well as part of a
team
- Good communications skills. Able to work well with other Software
Engineers, Operations and Maintenance personnel, and Systems Engineers.
- BS in Computer Science, or related degree or comparable working
experience.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain high level government clearance up
to a TS/SCI Level.
Candidates are prefered to have additionaly experience with the
following technoligies:
- Experience with IBM Rational Purify, Enterprise Architect
- Working knowledge of J2EE concepts and a web application server such
as JBoss or Weblogic
- Working knowledge of the following technologies: Web Services, Service
Oriented Architecture (SOA), Linux, XML, XSLT, Sybase, Oracle,
PostgreSQL, CORBA.
- Working knowledge of some source code control such as Clearcase,
subversion, CVS, RCS, etc.
